DELFT, the Netherlands — Ampelmann has completed its 10-millionth offshore personnel transfer, via an E1000 gangway operating on the offshore supply vessel Cade Candies.
The vessel is supporting construction and commissioning of turbines for the Vineyard wind farm offshore the US east coast.
Ampelmann has designed its gangways to compensate for motions in six degrees of freedom while transporting offshore personnel and cargo.
Since the company started operations in 2008, it has completed close to 750,000 successful landings made during 650 individual projects worldwide. It now operates a fleet of 70 walk-to-work systems and recently developed the W-type, fully integrated modular and electric tower system.
Two of the company’s E1000 systems are operating on the Hywind Tampen floating offshore wind farm in the Norwegian North Sea.
