CASTROPOL, Spain — Gondan Shipbuilders in Figueras, northern Spain, has launched another commissioning service operation vessel for Edda Wind.
The new vessel, designed by Salt Ship Design, is 88.3 m long with a beam of 19.7 m. It will be powered by zero-emission technology, with funding support from the Norwegian government via Enova SF.
Other features are accommodation for 97 technicians and 23 crew, a 3D offshore crane, an offshore gangway with a 30-m outreach and a 26-person capacity elevator.
This is the third in a series of six vessels designed for the transfer of technical personnel for the commissioning and maintenance of offshore wind farms.
