Offshore staff
BERGEN, Norway — Exxon Mobil and SFL have signed a contract for a harsh environment drilling program offshore eastern Canada using the Odfjell Drilling-managed semisubmersible Hercules.
The 135-day firm contract period is due to start next spring, with an option to extend by about 60 days.
Odfjell agreed in May with SFL to provide marketing and management services for the rig, which is set to return to Norway next month, after which Odfjell Drilling will assume management on SFL’s behalf.
Hercules will then undergo a scheduled special periodic survey before mobilizing to Canada.
