    Equinor progressing Bay du Nord FPSO pre-FEED phase

    STORD, Norway — Salt Ship Design is working with Equinor to develop a harsh environment hull for the FPSO for the Bay du Nord oil project offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.

    The two parties have been collaborating on a concept involving enhanced motion characteristics and purpose-designed to withstand exposed weather conditions in the Flemish Pass Basin.

    Salt CEO Egil Sandvik said the ship-shaped concept has unique features.

    In February Equinor awarded the company a pre-FEED contract to mature and further develop the hull design in cooperation with topside and turret contractors, class, flag and authorities. This work will carry through the start of the FEED.
