ExxonMobil awards SLB OneSubsea contract for Area 4 deepwater Mozambique LNG project

SLB OneSubsea has secured a contract to supply subsea production systems for the first phase of ExxonMobil's Area 4 offshore Rovuma LNG development in Mozambique. 

ExxonMobil Moçambique has contracted SLB OneSubsea to supply subsea production systems for Phase 1 of the Area 4 offshore Rovuma LNG project.

The other partners in the development are ENH, CNPC, Eni, KOGAS and XRG.

The engineering, procurement, manufacturing and installation services contract scope covers subsea trees, manifolds, umbilicals and associated control systems for the deepwater field.

SLB OneSubsea will establish a services base in Mozambique to support the project and operators across the region. The facility will provide training and employment opportunities, and assist development of regional supply chains.

The contract represents another milestone for development of the Area 4 project as operators continue preparations to monetize the basin's significant offshore gas resources.
