Aker Kværner to deliver hardware to CNOOC

Aker Kværner has contracted to supply the China National Offshore Oil Corp. with a marine drilling riser system and mooring equipment for a deepwater semisubmersible rig. Details were not released, but the riser is to be 7,500 ft (2,286 m) in length.

LYSAKER, Norway – Aker Kværner has contracted to supply the China National Offshore Oil Corp. with a marine drilling riser system and mooring equipment for a deepwater semisubmersible rig. Details were not released, but the riser is to be 7,500 ft (2,286 m) in length.

The marine drilling riser system will be manufactured and delivered out of Aker Kværner Subsea's new manufacturing centre in Malaysia. Delivery is scheduled for Q2, 2010. Aker Kværner subsidiary, Aker Kværner Pusnes will deliver the mooring equipment to CNOOC's drilling rig.
