DeepOcean has acquired Perth, Australia-based Shelf Subsea, which provides subsea services to clients in Southeast Asia, Australia and the Middle East, according to a May 22 DeepOcean news release.
Shelf Subsea has about 1,800 staff and delivers more than $1 billion in annual revenues. The company will be integrated into DeepOcean to form DeepOcean APAC.
In the Asia-Pacific and Middle East, DeepOcean says it sees growing demand for subsea IMR and recycling services as well as a developing offshore wind market.

Outside Australia, the company has offices in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia. It currently operates three chartered multipurpose dive support vessels, various ROVs, subsea installation equipment and diving systems.
