PARIS –Statoil has awarded a €37 million ($50.7 million) contract to a Technip/Subsea 7 joint venture for a flowline in Alve field offshore Norway.

The contract includes project management, engineering, procurement, installation, and pre-commissioning of a 16-km (10-mi) long rigid carbon steel flowline between the Norne FPSO and the Alve L seabed template. The flowline is expected to have internal alloy cladding for corrosion resistance and a direct electrical heating cable with mechanical protection system.

Technip in Oslo, Norway, will execute the contract, weld the flowline at its Orkanger, Norway, spoolbase, and install the flowline next summer using theApache pipelay vessel.
