Total taps Subsea 7 for Laggan Tormore

Total E&P UK Ltd. has signed a $250-million contract for Subsea 7 Inc. to engineer, procure, install, and commission pipe and umbilicals in the deepwater gas development Laggan Tormore west of Shetland in the North Sea.

LONDON – Total E&P UK Ltd. has signed a $250-million contract for Subsea 7 Inc. to engineer, procure, install, and commission pipe and umbilicals in the deepwater gas development Laggan Tormore west of Shetland in the North Sea.

Subsea 7 will engineer, fabricate, and install 141 km (88 mi) of 8-in (20-cm) and 2-in (5 cm) piggyback service pipelines, and also will engineer, supply, and install umbilicals, subsea structures and tie-ins for two umbilicals, one 125 km (78 mi) and one 17 km (10.5 mi) in length..

The project is 125 km offshore and in 600 m (1,968 ft) of water.
