STAVANGER, Norway — TotalEnergies has contracted a consortium of Ocean Installer and Oceaneering to perform transportation and installation services for the GIR FLEX project in Block 17 offshore Angola.
The project is part of a program to extend the life of the Girassol Field’s FPSO, which started operating in 2001, to 2031.
Ocean Installer will manage the program, its scope including recovery of old risers, transportation and installation of 10 replacement risers and a gas lift umbilical, fabrication and assembly of new equipment in Angola, and a topsides support and modification campaign.
Oceaneering will provide air and saturation diving services including engineering and procurement, also managing in-country operations.
While Ocean Installer’s project management and engineering team will be based in Stavanger, Oceaneering will provide support from Luanda, Aberdeen and Stavanger.
