Offshore staff
STAVANGER — Ocean Installer says it has formed another collaboration with Equinor, this time for a subsea tieback of the Eirin gas field.
The contract work involves EPCI services for the Eirin subsea tieback development, with an option for a new gas solution from Troll B via the existing Kvitebjørn export pipeline. The scope also covers installation of structures, flexibles, umbilical, seabed rectification, tie-ins and commissioning. It also includes design, fabrication and installation of GRP covers and spool bringing important gas volumes to the European market.
Engineering will begin immediately, and both projects are scheduled to be completed by 2025, bringing important gas volumes to the European market.
Topsides tie-in
Two new wells from the Eirin Field will be tied back to Gina Krog through a flexible flowline. To be able to process the wet gas, several modifications are needed topside. The work consists of modifications to the existing facilities, in addition to the integration of new equipment.
The scope of work includes a new inlet cooler and separator for wet gas; metering for both gas and liquids; pull-in and hang-off of a new umbilical from Eirin; new HPU and MEG skids for subsea supply; and hook-up operation for subsea power and control.
The project's anticipated scope entails about 220,000 manhours, and work has already begun, with completion expected by fourth-quarter 2025.
Moreld Apply said the contract is worth 0.5 billion to 1.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($45.2 million to $135.6 million).
Background
Eirin is a gas field in the North Sea that was originally discovered in 1978, and it will be developed with a 2-slot template with an integrated manifold where the well stream will be connected to the existing Gina Krog platform through a 9.5-km flexible flowline and integrated service umbilical. The optional scope on Troll B includes a new 2.5-km flexible flowline from an existing pipeline end manifold (PLEM) on Troll B to a new PLEM close to the Kvitebjørn hot tap. A rigid spool will be fabricated and installed between the new PLEM and the Kvitebjørn hot tap.
