OSLO, Norway— The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has granted consent to A/S Norske Shell consent for removal and disposal of subsea structures on the Gaupe Field.
BG developed Gaupe in the North Sea via two production wells, Gaupe North and Gaupe South, both of which came onstream in 2012. Fluids from the two drill centers were commingled at the Gaupe SSIV manifold, close to the Armada complex across the median line in UK waters, 250 km east of Aberdeen.
The wells were tied back to Armada via two 8-in. / 12-in. pipe-in-pipe systems and a flexible riser connected to a platform conductor caisson.
Production from Gaupe ceased in 2018. Decommissioning is due to be completed by the end of 2026.
