LEIDSCHENDAM, the NetherlandsPetrobras has awarded Fugro a three-year subsea inspection, repair and maintenance services contract offshore Brazil.

Fugro will start the program during 4Q using the Fugro Aquarius and its two 3,000-m (9,942-ft) depth work-class ROVs.

The company previously performed a four-year assignment for similar services from the same vessel, clocking more than 20,000 hours of ROV operations and delivering insights into the condition of various offshore facilities.

The Fugro Aquarius is 83-m (272-ft) long and designed mainly for work offshore Brazil. Its diesel-electric propulsion is said to limit noise and carbon emissions, while its DP system is said to ensure seakeeping under wide-ranging of sea and wind conditions.
