PARIS – Subsea 7 has contracted Nexans to design and manufacture 46 km (29 mi) of umbilicals for Woodside Energy’s Sangomar field development offshore Senegal.

The umbilicals, produced by the company’s specialized facility in Halden, Norway, will provide hydraulic, control and instrumentation services for a standalone FPSO facility and associated subsea infrastructure.

Nexans will deliver 13,471 m (44,196 ft) of dynamic umbilicals which will be installed from north to south.

The company will also provide 9.503 m (31.18 ft) of main static umbilicals, 8,719 m (28,606 ft) of production infield umbilicals, and 14,650 m (48,064 ft) of injection infield umbilicals in the subsequent four phases of development.

Discovered in 2014, the Sangomar field is spread over 400 sq km (154 sq mi), in water depths ranging from 700 to 1,400 m (2,297 to 4,593 ft).
