HARTLEPOOL, UKSubsea 7 has contracted JDR to supply a 9.3-km (5.8-mi) production and control umbilical, topsides equipment, and subsea terminations for the Elgood field development in the UK southern North Sea.

The umbilical, due to be delivered next spring, will connect the Elgood subsea well to the Blythe platform. JDR will manufacture much of the equipment at its yard in Hartlepool, with the hydraulic hoses and LV cables assigned to the company’s facility in Littleport, Cambridgeshire.

Elgood is part of Independent Oil and Gas’ (IOG) Core Project Phase 1, also encompassing development of the Southwark and Blythe fields. The project is in water depths ranging from 20-30 m (65.6-98.4 ft): IOG’s partner is CalEnergy Resources.
