HOUSTON – Oceaneering AS has secured a contract from Lundin Norway AS to remove the Jorvik subsea well off Norway, with options for additional wells.

The removal project, which is part of an ongoing rig chase multi-client campaign, is expected to begin this fall and take three to four weeks to complete. Contract management is a cross border operation between the company’s Norway and UK teams.

Rune H. Rosnes, business development manager, Oceaneering, said the company will use its vessel-based wellhead removal solution.

“Our multi-client campaigns allow all operators to benefit from economies of scale, thus reducing subsea plug and abandonment costs to a minimum,” said Rosnes.

To date the comapny has more than 10 wells in the UK and Norway awarded to its 2019 rig chase multi-client campaign.
