YORK, UKC-Kore has completed its first deployment of its Cable Monitor Units with VAYCO Oil Tools and local Nigerian partner Cranium Engineering offshore Nigeria.

This was part of an asset integrity verification operation for a major operator.

According to C-Kore, the systems saved vessel time and were able to confirm the integrity of the entire network from a single location. The Cable Monitor Units test the condition of subsea umbilicals’ electrical lines, including insulation resistance and continuity measurement.

With the new Subsea TDR units, any faults discovered can also be localized and categorized, the company claimed.
