PARIS, France  Hafslund Oslo Celsio has awarded Technip Energies an EPC contract for a carbon capture and storage (CCS) development involving a waste-to-energy plant in Oslo, Norway.

This will capture 400,000 t/year of CO2, which will undergo liquefaction, under the Longship project, for subsequent export to the Northern Lights transport network and storage beneath the Norwegian North Sea.

The carbon capture plant will employ Shell’s amine-based CANSOLV system for capturing CO2 from the flue gas.

Technip Energies’ award follows delivery and test of a pilot unit and continuous collaboration with Hafslund to optimize the project’s economics.
