STAVANGER and OSLO — Industri Energi notified the Riksmekleren and Norsk olje og gass on June 3 of the first strike withdrawal if mediation on the shelf agreements (operator, drilling and catering) does not proceed.
The outlet is divided between 251 employees of the operating companies Equinor and Aker BP, 276 in the drilling company KCA Deutag and 46 employees in the catering companies Ess Support Service and 4Service Offshore Hotels.
The negotiations between Industri Energi and Norwegian Oil and Gas were broken on May 4.
The parties have been summoned for mediation on June 10-11. The mediation will be led by National Mediator Mats Wilhelm Ruland and will take place in Oslo.
The national mediator has suspended the suspension of work stoppages until mediation has concluded.
If the parties do not reach an agreement in mediation, there will be a strike from night to June 12.
"In the first instance of a possible strike, we take out a limited number of members, but we can step up if necessary," says Lill-Heidi Bakkerud, who is leading the negotiations for Industri Energi.
She emphasizes that the strike withdrawal will not affect production on the Norwegian shelf in principle.
The shelf agreements comprise more than 4,300 Industri Energi members.
Industri Energi has announced a resignation for the following companies and installations:
- Equinor: Njord A and Johan Sverdrup P2
- Aker BP: Valhalla
- KCA Deutag: Oseberg B, Oseberg C, Oseberg Sør, Oseberg Øst, Ringhorne and Kvitebjørn.
- Ess Support Services: Safe Boreas
- 4Servise offshore hotels: Floatell Endurance and Floatell Superior
The Industri Energi confederation has more than 56,000 members in the oil, gas and onshore industries who account for 80% of the Norwegian export value.
