STAVANGER, NorwayProsafe has agreed on compensation with EnQuest for last year’s cancelled contract for the accommodation support rig Safe Zephyrus in the UK northern North Sea.

Currently the rig is undergoing its five-yearly special periodic survey at the Averøy yard in Norway ahead of a contract for Shell at the Shearwater platform in the UK central North Sea. The program is due to start next month: the firm duration could be extended by up to 30 days.

As for other vessels in Prosafe’s fleet, the Safe Caledonia is due to start a 162-day contract (with a 30-day extension) option for Total at the Elgin platform, also in the central UK sector.

The Safe Eurus continues to provide safety and maintenance support to Petrobras offshore Brazil under a three-year contract since November 2019 and was in full operation throughout the quarter.

The Safe Notos has been off-hire but should resume operations from February, continuing through mid-November. Following a recent contract award, the Safe Concordia should start support work offshore Trinidad and Tobago in June or July.

The Safe Scandinavia and Safe Boreas are laid up in Norway. Recycling of the sold vessel Regalia should start during the current quarter.
