HOUSTON MODEC Inc. has contracted Honeywell to supply an integrated safety and security platform for the FPSO Miamte MV34.

With the platform, operators will be able to automate the entire emergency mustering process and reduce the duration of mustering from hours to minutes, the company said. In addition, radar video surveillance solutions will enable operators to receive early warning alerts in the event of any intrusion activity so they can secure the FPSO against unauthorized access.

The integrated security solutions for the FPSO are part of the company’s Plant and Personnel Safety portfolio, an end-to-end solution designed to digitize, integrate and automate the environment, health and safety ecosystem. They will include CCTV, access control, perimeter intrusion detection and a real-time location solution for workers—all unified on the Experion Industrial Security platform.

The FPSO, to be leased and operated by MODEC for Eni Mexico, will be deployed in Offshore Area 1, about 10 km (6 mi) off the Mexican coast in about 32 m (105 ft) of water. The unit will have a daily processing capacity of 90,000 bbl of crude oil, 75 MMcf of gas and 120,000 bbl of water injection, with a storage capacity of 700,000 bbl of crude oil.
