McDermott ships offshore Mexico FPSO modules

McDermott International Ltd. has shipped the first topsides modules for the FPSO that MODEC Inc. is building for Eni Mexico.

HOUSTON – McDermott International Ltd. has shipped the first topsides modules for the FPSO that MODEC Inc. is building for Eni Mexico.

The company is supplying five FPSO topsides modules, which will be delivered in two shipments. This first shipment includes modules that will provide compression, vapor recovery, and a laydown area for the FPSO.

Its Altamira fabrication facility in Mexico is delivering the FPSO modules and fixed platform for the Amoca field. Engineering support is being performed by its Houston and Altamira offices.

The FPSO Miamte MV34 will operate in Area 1 in the Campeche Bay, about 6 mi (10 km) offshore Mexico. Water depth is about 105 ft (32 m).
