RWE has awarded Kent a concept design contract for the Five Estuaries offshore wind farm development in the southern UK North Sea.
The study covers a planned HVAC offshore substation platform for the project, an extension of the 353-MW Galloper wind farm, 30 km from the coast of Suffolk, which became fully operational in March 2018.
Five Estuaries will be constructed 37 km from the Suffolk/Essex coast and should reach full power from 2031 onward. RWE is leading the development, construction and operation.
Kent’s concept design duties cover the substation topside and support structure foundation.
