CORK, Ireland — Blue Gem Wind, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Simply Blue Group, has secured a marine license for Wales’ first floating offshore wind development.

The planned 100-MW Erebus demonstration project, south of Pembroke Dock in the Celtic Sea, will draw on the capabilities of the local supply chain.

Blue Gem Wind expects to deploy Principle Power’s WindFloat technology, and it is aiming to construct the facilities by 2027.
