BREMEN, Germany — wpd offshore Australia Holding and Australis Energy Ltd. have entered a joint venture for three offshore wind projects in Australia with a combined capacity of 1.4 GW.
Phases 1 and 2 of the projects in the coastal waters of Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia have already been completed.
wpd will assist with Phase 3, which involves environmental studies and impact assessments, further data collection, landowner and grid access agreements, and planning, permitting and licensing.
The company’s track record in the Asia-Pacific region includes developments in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines and Taiwan, where it is implementing the 640-MW Yunlin offshore wind project.
