LUXEMBOURG  Seaway 7, part of Subsea 7 Group, has signed a letter of exclusivity with ScottishPower Renewables for the East Anglia THREE offshore wind project, which is 70 km off the eastern English coast in the southern North Sea.

This is one of three offshore wind farm developments that form the East Anglia Hub, planned by ScottishPower Renewables. East Anglia THREE will contribute about 1,400 MW of a potential 3,000 MW of renewable energy generation capacity at the hub.

Seaway 7’s scope, managed from the company’s Aberdeen office, would include transport and installation of 95 monopile foundations, associated seabed preparation and scour protection, and engineering, supply and installation of the interarray cables.

The project is due to start this year with offshore work scheduled for 2024, subject to a final investment decision by ScottishPower Renewables.
