GLASGOW, UKEni has entered a 50-50 partnership with Scottish offshore wind developer Red Rock Power.

They plan a joint bid with the support of transmission company, Transmission Investment, for the upcoming ScotWind offshore leasing round.

The companies will also target other future renewable opportunities in Scotland, combining their wind farm development and offshore experience.

Priorities for future offshore wind projects, Eni added, would be to maximize opportunities for the local supply chain; develop and deploy new technologies; and to assist decarbonization of the North Sea and the associated transfer of skills.

Recently Eni, the University of Strathclyde and Eni Corporate University signed a memorandum of understanding to deliver a program to help professionals and workforces in Scotland’s oil and gas sector transfer their skills to renewable energy technologies.

Transmission Investment brings a track record in the acquisition and management of UK offshore wind farms connections, and offshore wind generation and interconnector sector development experience.
