HOUSTONTalos Energy has issued an update on its development and exploration programs in the US Gulf of Mexico.

Under the Tornado water flood project, injection from the B-4 aquifer into the B-6 producing reservoir continues at a rate of more than 20,000 b/d.

Results so far have been positive from the producing Tornado wells, with increased production and higher measured pressures in the B-6 reservoir.

Following successful drilling of the Kaleidoscope well from the Green Canyon 18 platform, Talos expects first production from the well in late November.

Due to interruptions caused by Tropical Storm Beta and Hurricane Zeta last month, repairs to the Ram Powell facility should be completed this month, followed by a resumption of production.

At Bulleit, ramp-up of production following initial flowback had to be halted due to personnel evacuations ahead of Hurricane Zeta. Production should re-start soon once the Green Canyon 18 platform has been re-staffed.

Finally, operator bp expects to resume drilling shortly of the Puma West exploration prospect following a suspension in January 2020, prior to drilling through the Middle and Lower Miocene main objectives. Talos has a 25% interest.
