Offshore staff
SANDNES, Norway — Techouse will design and supply the new combined cycle power equipment for Equinor’s Statfjord C platform in the Norwegian North Sea.
The equipment will replace the existing gas turbines, the aim being to reduce CO2 emissions from the facility by 25% (95,000 t) by 2026.
This is the company’s second largest contract to date. All its previous combined cycle systems have been for new development projects; the Statfjord delivery will be its first for retrofitting onto an existing platform.
Moreld Apply will manage overall execution of the project including integrity and interfaces on the platform, required modifications to existing systems, and the offshore installation, with offshore work taking place during the summer seasons of 2025 and 2026 with the field still in production.
Equinor, Techouse and Moreld Apply had previously collaborated in the concept development phase.
The new energy system should start operating in the fall of 2026.
