LONDON  Deltic Energy has completed its Phase A work program for license P2542 in the UK central North Sea.

This has de-risked the light oil Syros prospect west of the Montrose-Arbroath production platforms and also close to various fields producing from Fulmar sandstones. Deltic expects the same sandstones to be present in the Syros rotated fault block.

The company acquired the latest 3D Evolution seismic dataset across the acreage and undertook a joint impedance and facies inversion of the data with IKON Science.

Deltic considers Syros drill-ready and has started a farm-out process for the block. The company, which partnered with Shell in last year’s Pensacola Zechstein gas discovery in the southern North Sea, has held discussions with various interested operators.
