OSLO, Norway  TGS will acquire an extension of the 2021 North of Alvheim and Krafla Area (NOAKA) ocean-bottom node (OBN) seismic survey in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

The NOAKA22 survey, due to start this month, will comprise an additional 318 sq km of OBN data over the APA area between the Oseberg and Alvheim area.

The Aker BP-operated NOAKA multi-field development will target recovery of more than 500 MMboe, with more prospectivity anticipated in the region.

This will be TGS’ third OBN survey in the North Sea in recent times following NOAKA21 and Utsira OBN, a joint survey with PGS.

TGS will deploy an ultralong offset signal for FWI-based model building, full azimuth, high fold, high signal-to-noise ratios, AVO, and ultralong offsets to address complexities in the geology for field development and near-field exploration.
