LONDON – IOG has re-opened the Blythe gas well in its Saturn Gas Banks project in the UK southern North Sea.

It follows remedial work to address a mechanical fault on the Blythe platform topsides, in collaboration with the offshore Duty Holder ODE Asset Management.

A further permanent modification on the Blythe platform will be fitted when materials become available.

Last weekend the jackup Noble Hans Deul rig was successfully moved into position alongside the Southwark platform, with the legs positioned securely on the newly installed rock pads.

Development drilling at Southwark should resume in the next few days.
