OSLO, NorwayTemporary Norwegian petroleum tax incentives, introduced this summer, have encouraged DNO International to mature development options for the Brasse oil field in the North Sea, the company revealed in its latest results statement.

It now expects to submit a plan for development and operation (PDO) for Brasse in 2021. In partnership with others, DNO is also assessing the Iris/Hades, Fogelberg, and Trym South discoveries in the Norwegian Sea and North Sea, all with a view to filing PDOs in 2022.

The company is participating in two exploration wells in the current quarter: Polmak in the Barents Sea, already drilling, and Røver Nord, set to spud soon in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

Its line-up next year includes wildcat wells on the Gomez prospect in the southern North Sea, the Edinburgh prospect (UK-Norwegian median line), and appraisal drilling of this year’s Bergknapp discovery, operated by Wintershall Dea.

Under this summer’s UK offshore licensing round, DNO was awarded four licenses (two operated), all containing discoveries.
