    Shell takes Maersk rig for drilling program offshore Brazil

    Shell Brasil has contracted the Mærsk Developer semisubmersible for a 90-day campaign in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

    LYNGBY, Denmark — Shell Brasil has contracted the Mærsk Developer semisubmersible for a 90-day campaign in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

    The rig will drill one exploration well and perform subsea well interventions at the BC-10 Field, with work expected to start next March 2023, in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract.

    Estimated value is about $37 million, including a mobilization fee.
