Ithaca Energy to acquire Terra Nova, White Rose stakes offshore Canada from Suncor

Ithaca Energy's first international acquisition would add interests in the Terra Nova and White Rose fields offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, boosting reserves and positioning the company among Canada's largest offshore operators.

Why this news matters:

  • The acquisition marks Ithaca Energy's first international expansion and establishes the company as a significant new player in Canada's offshore sector.

  • The deal adds 103 MMboe of proved and probable reserves, while providing additional resource upside through future infill drilling, step-out opportunities and exploration activity.

  • The acquisition gives Ithaca Energy exposure to near-term production growth from the West White Rose development and a long-life asset base with an estimated reserve life of about 17 years.
