Helix vessel sails to New Zealand for Tui well abandonments

NEW PLYMOUTH, New Zealand – A third phase of P&A is due to start shortly at the Tui oil field in the Taranaki Basin offshore New Zealand.

Helix Energy Solutions’ Q7000 well decommissioning vessel was due to arrive today at Port Taranaki where it will remain for about a week for a crew exchange and to load supplies for the campaign.

It will then head to the Tui Field to start the three-month P&A campaign.

Port Taranaki is providing pilotage and tug support to guide the vessel to its berth.
