LONDONIndependent Oil and Gas (IOG) has secured a two-year extension from Britain’s Oil & Gas Authority to the initial term for license P2085 in the southern North Sea, containing the Harvey prospect.

The license now runs to Dec. 20, 2019.

IOG has committed to drill a well on Harvey, with the spud due to start by Sept. 20, 2019. The company expects to have a rig contract in place by Nov. 20, 2018.

It estimates prospective gas resources at up to 114 bcf, which if confirmed would make the license the largest in the company’s portfolio.

Harvey is in between IOG’sBlythe and Vulcan Satellites hubs. Assuming successful appraisal, its production could be exported via the nearby Thames Pipeline.
