Aminex looking to re-tender deepwater 3D seismic survey offshore Tanzania
Offshore staff
LONDON – Aminex is preparing a new 3D seismic program over deepwater areas of its Nyuni production-sharing agreement offshore Tanzania.
The company expects to re-tender for a 3D seismic contractor capable of acquiring high-quality 3D data over the Pande West lead and identifying other potential deepwater prospects, with a view to upgrading these to drill-ready status.
Pande West is analogous to major deepwater gas discoveries in neighboring blocks.
In parallel, Aminex is reviewing ways of monetizing gas discoveries both on the shelf and in deepwater through delivery into Tanzania’s National Gas Gathering System.
Although it will need partner support for a deepwater well, more economic wells on the continental shelf remain an option.
As part of continuing work over the company’s near-shore interests under theKiliwani North Development License and the Nyuni Area PSA, Aminex is reviewing existing data to identify drillable prospects that could be tied back to the National Gas Gathering System on Songo Songo Island.
