CALGARY, Canada– The Commercial Court of the High Court of Justice has ruled in favor of Ithaca Energy concerning a drilling dispute in the UK North Sea. This concerns the Jacky J03 development well proceedings that Ithaca raised against North Sea Energy UK (NSE).

The Court backed Ithaca’s position in concluding that the well was drilled as a “Joint Operation” under the joint operating agreement. NSE must therefore contribute to the Jacky J03 well costs in accordance with its field equity (10%).

NSE has not requested leave to appeal the judgment, and has been ordered to pay Ithaca’s legal costs.
