ABERDEEN, UK – Total (NYSE:TOT; Paris:FP FP) has awarded Romar International a three-year contract extension for waste handling services in the UK North Sea.
The agreement started in 2007, with Romar supplying swarf removal equipment to remove metal waste debris from downhole on various Total North Sea platforms.
Under the latest extension, the contractor will provide swarf handling services on fields including Elgin, Franklin, Alwyn, and Dunbar for well P&A projects.
Swarf handling equipment removes waste produced from casing milling activities during P&A operations. According to Romar, operators and drilling contractors need a safe, reliable, and efficient means of disposing this waste at surface.
