RWE, SOCAR team up for shallow water Caspian study

HAMBURG, Germany – RWE Dea has signed a joint study agreement with Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.

The duo will evaluate hydrocarbon prospectivity in an area south of the Absheron peninsula in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea.

The 850-sq km (328-sq mi) study area, between Karadag and Hamamdag, is in water depths ranging from 0-30 m (0-98.4 ft).
