Lundin gets nod for Barents Sea well

Lundin Norway has authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill an exploration well in the Barents Sea.

OSLO, Norway --Lundin Norway has authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill an exploration well in the Barents Sea.

The semisubmersibleLeiv Eiriksson will drill well 7219/12-1 in production license 533, comprising blocks 7219/12 and 7220/10, at a location around 24 km (15 mi) south of the discovery well 7220/10-1.

Lundin secured the permit in May 2009 underNorway’s 20th licensing round.
