Petrobras exiting Pescada cluster fields offshore Brazil

Petrobras has agreed to sell its 65% operated stake in three shallow-water fields off Brazil to a subsidiary of Ouro Preto Óleo e Gás.

RIO DE JANEIROPetrobras has agreed to sell its 65% operated stake in three shallow-water fields off Brazil to a subsidiary of Ouro Preto Óleo e Gás.

The Pescada cluster - Pescada, Arabaiana, and Dentão - are in the Potiguar basin offshore Rio Grande do Norte State. Ouro Preto already has a 35% stake in the concession.

Closure of the $1.5-million transaction is subject to approval by Brazil’s Administrative Council of Economic Defense and the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels.

Average production of the Pescada cluster from January to June 2020 was around 260 b/d of oil and 190,000 cu m/d of gas.
