With a total weight of more than 35,000 tonnes and up to 54 m in height, TotalEnergies describes Tyra II as a small high-rise town on pillars in the North Sea, 225 km from the west coast of Jutland.
But while ramp-up operations at the Tyra II redevelopment continue, various operational challenges and bad weather have impacted progress, with short weather windows delaying reactivation of the Tyra satellite wells.
Based on current weather predictions, TotalEnergies has extended the timeline for reactivating all satellite wells needed to attain plateau production until the second half of January.
“Once the necessary wells have been reactivated, we do not expect performance to be subject to weather in the way that it has been during the startup phase,” said BlueNord CEO Euan Shirlaw.
