Hess ramps up gas production at North Malay Basin

NEW YORK – Gas production from the North Malay Basin project offshore Malaysia has averaged 86 MMcf/d following start-up in July.

Currently, the field is flowing around 155 MMcf/d, said operator Hess.

In the Stabroek block offshore Guyana (Hess 30%), exploration drilling may have started on the Ranger prospect, with a further well planned next year on the recentTurbot oil discovery in the same concession.

Development activities associated with theLiza Phase one project are on schedule for first production by 2020, the company added.
