BANGKOK -- PTT Exploration and Production Public Co. (PTTEP) expects first production from the Arthit field in February 2008.

The Arthit central processing platform left McDermott's yard in Batam, Indonesia, on November 30, for installation in the southern part of the Gulf of Thailand field.

At 16,750 tons (15,195 metric tons), it is one of the biggest central processing platforms in the Asia-Pacific region, and it was built in 30 months.

Other facilities on site include 90 production wells, living quarters, six wellhead platforms, five gas pipelines, and a condensate pipeline. It is estimated to produce 330 MMcf/d (9.3 MMcm/d) of natural gas initially.

The project is a joint venture of PTTEP, the operator with 80% interest, Chevron Thailand E&P with 16% interest, and MOECO Thailand with 4% interest.
