ABERDEEN, UK --Talisman North Sea has started up the Enoch oil and gas field in the North Sea. Enoch was discovered in 1985, but underwent several changes of ownership before Talisman moved in to initiate development last year.

The field stretches across the UK/Norwegian North Sea median line: 80% is in UK block 16/13a, the remainder being in Norway's block 15/5. A single subsea completed horizontal well has been tied back 10-km (6.2 mi) to Marathon's Brae A platform for processing.

Enoch's oil – the initial production rate is 12-14,000 b/d – will be exported from Brae to the UK via the Forties pipeline network. The field is also producing 550-600 cm/d (1,9423-21,189 cf/d) of gas.
