CNOOC brings WZ 6-1 onstream

The Wei Zhou (WZ) 6-1 field in the western South China Sea was brought onstream by CNOOC producing 2,500 b/d of oil from two wells.

HONG KONG -- The Wei Zhou (WZ) 6-1 field in the western South China Sea was brought onstream by CNOOC producing 2,500 b/d of oil from two wells.

In the Beibu Gulf, 65 km from Beihai, Guangxi province, the field is in 35 m of water. WZ 6-1 produces through an unmanned wellhead platform via a subsea pipeline to facilities at WZ 12-1 field.

Production is estimated to peak at 3,700 b/d.
