RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petrobras expects it will take up to four months to replace subsea equipment during an extended well test (EWT) at the Tupi field offshore Brazil. Petrobras detected a manufacturing issue with the fixation bolts used in a wet christmas tree on well 3-RJS-646 in the Tupi area, as reported.

The well was closed for the operation to be carried out, and the EWT will continue after the replacement has been completed. No oil was spilled and no equipment was damaged, Petrobras says. The company opted to replace the equipment pursuant to HSE policies.
