HOUSTON — Weatherford has been awarded a five-year contract with Petrobras offshore Brazil to provide drillpipe riser ultradeepwater intervention systems and services.

This new seven-system contract will begin operations March 2025 and will replace a current six-system contract that began in November 2020.

Weatherford's Intervention Workover Control Systems provide holistic answers for tasks such as tubing-string or tubing-hanger installation, well testing and appraisal, spool-base, and both vertical and horizontal christmas tree installation. Additionally, these systems cater to wellhead-tree cap installation, well intervention operations with workover BOP, and oil or gas production for early well tests. To elevate this, Weatherford is incorporating its Centro well construction optimization platform, which is designed to offer enhanced operational visibility and performance.

Earlier this year, Petrobras awarded Weatherford another five-year intervention services contract in Brazil. The two have cooperated on subsea intervention and commissioning offshore Brazil for more than two decades.
